Cloud App Modernization

Bringing your Apps into the Cloud era

Your organisation, like many, likely has a raft of applications spanning decades of IT practice. Call them monoliths, or label them as technical debt, they are likely costly, complex in nature, and stifle the type of innovation your business is looking for with digital services.

Our Cloud App Modernisation takes the value in these applications, such as the processes and data you have built up over the years, and re-platforms them on cloud-native services, opening them up to opportunities to innovate and optimise, while reducing costs and risk. We work closely with your team to identify candidates for modernisation that align with business goals and deliver a demonstrable return on investment. By bringing your apps into the cloud era, we breathe new life into tired systems.

You could not hope for a more engaged partner. Not just the initial discovery piece of our current state of play, but also where the final destination should be on that journey and throughout the process. They didn’t just deal with us as a partner, they took all of our vendors on that journey. It is absolutely invaluable.

How We Do it

01

Discover

Working with your team through a series of interviews, we gain an understanding of your application estate and work to identify candidate applications for modernisation.

03

Deconstruct

By deconstructing your applications we are able to be targeted about how and where we can make improvements, and align these with business goals, whether that be innovation, performance, resilience, operational efficiency or risk management.

05

Abstract

Sometimes the best approach with legacy applications is to abstract away from them to accelerate innovation and ROI. With the use of data lakes, APIs and serverless services, we can build new services by removing reliance on old systems.

02

Qualify

With the candidate applications identified, we work through your key business goals and align them with the opportunities for modernisation, resulting in a clear understanding of ROI and prioritisation for apps.

04

Lean

With applications understood in their component parts, we are able to find unnecessary waste and remove this from the application stack. This could include components such as security appliances, load balancers and proprietary storage and database systems.

06

Repacking

With a cloud-ready modernised application ready to go, we package up the components for redeployment using code templates for infrastructure and integrate these into your code repositories and CI/CD pipelines. If you don’t have them, we can build them!
